Firefly Winery is more than just a place to enjoy great wine—it’s the realization of a decades-long dream rooted in passion, community, and a love for the craft of winemaking. The inspiration behind our name comes from the Tony Bennett song "Firefly," which captures the warmth, charm, and joy we aim to create in every visit. From the cozy ambiance to the curated wine list, every detail is designed to reflect that spirit.

Our co-founder, Joe, began his winemaking journey nearly 20 years ago in Northeast Ohio. After a trip to France where he studied in the famed Burgundy and Champagne regions, Joe honed his craft, eventually becoming the lead winemaker at a successful Ohio winery. Along with his wife Jenny, they co-owned a rural vineyard near Columbus, where Joe’s wines won several awards.

Life led us to Hilliard, Ohio, where we raised our family, built connections, and ultimately realized that our dream winery belonged right here in our community. In 2021, Jenny posted a simple question on a local Facebook page—asking if Hilliard would support a winery—and was met with an overwhelming “Yes!” That encouragement propelled us to pursue the creation of Firefly Winery in the heart of Downtown Hilliard.
